Hansa Sharma - Student Intern
Hansa Sharma is a third-year student at Dartmouth College studying Economics and Global Health on the premed track. She became involved with the Finding the Value project as a UGAR Junior Research Scholar. Her coursework in The Dartmouth Institute’s healthcare policy and global healthcare sparked her interest in clinical research in the realm of patient and family engagement to broaden her perspective as an aspiring medical student. She hopes to enrich her academic understanding of clinical practice with the multifaceted approach of the Finding the Value project to gain greater insight into the triad of stakeholders that drives best practices for healthcare. Hansa has previous clinical and basic science experience involving investigation of exosomal biomarkers for rheumatoid and osteoarthritis at NYU Langone Health. At Dartmouth, she is an executive for GlobeMed, opinion columnist for the Dartmouth, healthcare industry analyst for Smart Woman Securities, and yoga instructor. She volunteers in humanitarian organizations throughout New York City and the Upper Valley. Previously, she served as Project Manager for VSA-NYC, an affiliate of the Kennedy Center, to spearhead an international exchange program that provides arts therapy to students with special needs in Khartoum, Sudan in conjunction with the United Nations and the State Department. After graduating Dartmouth in 2019, Hansa hopes to complete an MPH program before starting medical school.
